Adgregate Markets Acquires Gydget Ad Network

Acquisition Allows Adgregate to Merge Syndicated e-Commerce with Brand Advertising

06.17.2009—Adgregate Markets, the leading provider of transactional advertising technology, today announced the acquisition of Gydget^TM, the leading brand-oriented widget advertising company. The acquisition creates a tour-de-force online advertising solution that gives advertisers a new set of performance tools that merge brand advertising, direct response marketing, and e-commerce.

Gydget, a fan-driven widget platform, will become an innovative complementary offering to Adgregate Markets’ ShopAds^TM network. ShopAds transform traditional banner ads into fully transactional e-commerce ad units. Customers can securely purchase any product from within ShopAds, without ever needing to click away to another website. Combined with Gydget, ShopAds now give advertisers the ability to create relevant and engaging social ads, with the added ability to sell products anywhere, anytime. This combined solution is perfect for large brands that want to empower their brand advocates to virally distribute real-time messaging, rich media, news feeds, and ultimately product catalogs and shopping carts in a self-contained widget. The Gydget ad network currently reaches more than 30 million impressions per month, and will immediately give Adgregate Markets the ability to distribute ShopAds through its 200,000 unique widget installations.

Adgregate Markets will continue to offer an ad-supported, free version of Gydget for existing self-serve widget owners. ShopAds are currently available directly through Adgregate Markets and partners such as Google’s DoubleClick and EyeWonder.
